DEC is an innovative, strong, employee-owned company founded in Houston in 1945. Still headquartered in the nation’s fourth-largest city, we serve Texas with seven offices across the state.
Think of us as your partner in project success. We team with clients and others to find innovative solutions to make communities better. Through the decades, we've helped countless communities and entities plan, finance, design and build public and private projects of all types and sizes. We’ve partnered to provide safe water and sewer systems, address subsidence, identify ways to fund mass transit and highway projects, and much more.
In the 1950s-60s DEC played a leadership role in addressing public health concerns in Houston by establishing entities to fund residential water and sewer services, including for Acres Homes, a historic African American community established during World War I. Decades later we helped secure almost $1 billion in state funding for one of the largest water supply programs in the greater Houston region.
